Love in Flood

Burma is a place of extremes, and chief among them is the weather. Love Children's Home is situated on a lake, which makes for an interesting experience in itself, and this year the monsoon rains dumped more than normal on this part of the world after a few years of inadequate rainfall. Contrast the photo below, which was taken in 2009 when I had to hike to miles to the home because the lake was so low, to the second which was taken last week.

End of Year Report

Our Financial Year ended on 30 June, and outlined below are some of the many ways we were able to show the love of Christ to our poor and needy family around the world. Heaven's Family UK works with our 'parent' ministry, Heaven's Family, and a partner ministry, Alpha Relief, both based in the US, as well as with trusted partners on the ground in the various countries. The purpose of this report is to highlight specifically how donations made through Heaven's Family UK were used. I hope it is an encouragement to you.

Thailand/Burma Trip

VISIT TO REFUGEE CAMPS   On Friday I travel to Thailand at the invitation of our partner ministry, Alpha Relief, to visit refugee camps on the Thai/Burmese border. Alpha Relief are working in these camps, which contain a high proportion of children who have fled the fighting in neighbouring Burma, bringing support, aid and the love of Christ to these victims of conflict. At this time the war is raging just across the river, so our trip will be determined by our guides on the ground, so please pray for discernment and for the safety of all in the camps.
