How Sponsorship Works

We've made sponsoring an child through Orphan's Tear a simple process. First, browse the photos of children and let your heart lead you to your child.

When you find the child you want to sponsor, simply fill out the contact information form and choose your method of giving. There are three ways to make your monthly child sponsorship gift. You can (1) set up a monthly standing order with your bank, (2) set up automatic monthly credit/debit card deductions through PayPal, or (3) send cheques (monthly, quarterly, semi-annual or annually). We prefer that you set up a monthly standing order, as this will save us administrative costs. Start looking for your child!

When we receive your first contribution, we will send you two wallet-sized photos of your sponsored child —one as a prayer reminder to place on your refrigerator door, and one to carry in your wallet or purse to show others—in hopes that they might become interested in following your good example. Start looking for your child!

Although you are sponsoring an child that you "adopt," your gifts will benefit an entire home so that sponsored children are not given preferential treatment over those that are not. Please pray with us that every child in every home will soon be sponsored.

Although you will not receive monthly receipts for your contributions, you will receive an annual statement of your giving. Again, not having to send you monthly acknowledgements in the mail saves us administrative costs. Your money is not being wasted, it is benefiting the children.

Although it is not possible to correspond with your child (as that would add considerable expense to the sponsorship program), it is sometimes possible to visit him or her at their home in a group tour. For information, please contact us.

You may discontinue you sponsorship at any time by contacting Orphan's Tear. When your child is old enough to leave the home, or circumstances change,  you will be notified.
