Orphan's Tear has a new partner! Alpha Relief is helping us with a project to provide one of our homes with a fish farm. This will be the second fish farm that Orphan's Tear has undertaken to provide over the last two years. The first, which you may recall as being at a home that is high in the mountains of Burma, is currently stocked with 15000 fingerlings. We all await the first fruits with anticipation...
Alpha Relief works with the victims of conflict in many countries and we are delighted that they see us a worthy ministry with whom to partner with.
About half of the children at ____ Children's Home were orphaned because of a conflict that has been on-going for many years. It is known that there are several underground groups that have formed to oppose the ruling junta, who seek to exert pressure on the ethnic minorities in order to control these areas, which happen to be rich in oil, gas, precious stones and gold.
One of the requirements in the application for official registration as a child-care centre is that the home has it's own source of income, hence the need for the fish farm, so we are delighted that we are able to help them sooner than we first thought.
